GETTING STARTED WITH MICROSOFT COPILOT NOTEBOOKS
A notebook helps you keep related material together
Most people use notebooks like folders. Power users use them like dedicated AI experts for specific projects. Add chats, meetings, emails and graphics to a notebook so related content stays together and Copilot works from the right information.
a) You can easily find it!
b) Copilot works with the correct information
How to create a Microsoft Coipilot Notebook
Access your Microsoft Copilot Notebooks from the top left navigation.
Click to create a new notebook.

Once you’ve named your notebook, you’ll be able to add content. Copilot will prompt you to select recent files and chats, and you can also upload extra files from your computer or OneDrive.

If your organisation disables Copilot Agents, then notebooks are a great way to organise the information relevant to Copilot chats.
You can upload up to 300 files to your notebook. This is a great way to get around the file upload limit if you have a basic licence.
Using notebooks also by-passes the file upload limits for users on a basic licence
Connecting your Microsoft Copilot Notebook to OneNote
If you’re a fan of OneNote, you’ll love being able to access your Copilot notebooks from inside OneNote. In the top-right corner of your notebook, click to connect it to OneNote.

Although Copilot notebooks and OneNote keep the latest versions of uploaded documents in sync, it isn’t a true two-way sync. Asking for a new infographic in your Copilot notebook will not automatically upload it to OneNote.
You’ll still need to do a little manual copy and paste to keep things aligned

3. Compare the documents and identify any inconsistencies, conflicting messages or assumptions. Excellent for governance reviews and project health checks.
4. Based on all the information in this notebook, what actions should be prioritised over the next 30 days? Turns information into practical recommendations.
